Upon its launch, CNN was the first network to provide 24-hour television news coverage, and the first all-news television network in the United States. Globally, CNN programming airs through CNN International, which can be seen by viewers in over 212 countries and territories. In terms of regular viewers (Nielsen Ratings), CNN rates as the United States' number two cable news network, after only Fox News, while the network has the most unique viewers (Nielsen Cume Ratings).
